This project involved structural engineering design for 13 bridge replacement projects along the Amtrak rail line between New Haven, Hartford, and Springfield. CENTEK prepared lift and rigging plan drawings, calculations, and sequencing for precast bridge installations, including crane selection, rigging hardware, and setup logistics. A key challenge was the bridge replacement over the Newington River, which required designing a temporary steel trestle structure of beams and HP piles to support crane operations. Additional temporary retaining walls were designed using concrete block and geogrid systems to provide stable crane setup areas at multiple sites.
