North Haven Schools HVAC Study
North Haven, CT
Client: Town of North Haven
This project involved mechanical engineering and HVAC assessment services for four elementary schools in North Haven: Montowese, Ridge Road, Green Acres, and Clintonville. CENTEK evaluated existing systems to determine the most efficient and cost-effective methods for introducing cooling and improving ventilation in classrooms, cafeterias, kitchens, and gymnasiums. The study assessed compliance with the International Mechanical Code (IMC), reviewed equipment options, and identified infrastructure upgrades to enhance air distribution and indoor comfort. The scope also included structural and electrical feasibility evaluations to support proposed mechanical improvements.

Ansonia Schools Rooftop Equipment Support Projects
Ansonia, CT
Client: City of Ansonia Board of Education
This project involved structural engineering design in support of rooftop mechanical equipment upgrades across three school facilities within the Ansonia school district: Pendergast School Gymnasium, Pendergast School Chiller, and Mead School RTU Replacement. CENTEK evaluated existing roof structures, verified load-carrying capacity, and designed new steel support framing to accommodate the installation of larger and heavier rooftop units. Coordination with the mechanical engineer ensured proper load distribution, vibration isolation, and compliance with code requirements. The design minimized impact to the building envelope while ensuring safe and efficient installation.
